House Panel Seeks Interview With Top Organizer of Trump Inauguration: Report
PROBING
The House Intelligence Committee is seeking an interview with a top organizer on President Trump’s inaugural committee, The Wall Street Journal reports. The request signals that Congress is expanding its probe of how organizers of the inauguration were able to raise and spend more than $100 million, a record amount. The request was disclosed in a letter sent to a lawyer for the inaugural committee by an attorney for Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a producer and vendor for the inauguration, and a former adviser to first lady Melania Trump. The committee has requested materials related to contacts between the inaugural fund and foreign entities, specifically in Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, according to the people familiar with the letter. A spokesman for the inaugural committee declined to comment on the request.
