‘MAKE JUSTICE OBSTRUCTED AGAIN’

Stephen Colbert Reacts to Robert Mueller Bombshell: ‘This Is a Huge Moment’

The ‘Late Show’ host celebrates the news that Trump is ‘under criminal investigation.’

It was immediately following Stephen Colbert’s Wednesday night show that the latest bombshell news broke in the Trump administration Russia investigation. The Late Show host had opened his show by offering some rare praise for the president after the Congressional shooting, but then he found out that special counsel Robert Mueller was investigating Trump personally for obstruction of justice.

“Looks like Trump’s gonna need to change that hat,” Colbert said, revealing a red cap that read, “Make Justice Obstructed Again.”

“This is a huge moment, this is a historic moment,” he continued. “The president of the United States is currently under criminal investigation. When the movie comes out, this will definitely be in it. And I will definitely be played by Hugh Jackman.”

Part of the investigation hinges on why Trump fired former FBI Director James Comey. “But who knows who Trump really fired Comey?” Colbert asked, before playing the clip of the president saying on television that it was because of the Russia investigation.

“Mueller is not kidding around here!” Colbert said. “To find out what happened, he has put together what’s been described as an all-star legal team.” Or as the host put, “The Obstruction of Justice League.”
