You probably already missed it, but there was actually a reason to watch CSPAN this morning: Stephen Colbert testified in character before the House Judiciary Committee on Immigration on Friday. “This is America,” Colbert said, speaking about his experience working for a day at a farm in upstate New York. “I don’t want a tomato picked by a Mexican. I want it picked by an American, sliced by a Guatemalan, and served by a Venezuelan in a spa where a Chilean gives me a Brazilian.” He also asked to submit a video of his colonoscopy into the Congressional Record. However, he also made a rare display of humility: "They say that you truly know a man after you’ve walked a mile in his shoes, and while I have nowhere near the hardships of these struggling immigrants, I have been granted a sliver of insight.”
