Stephen Colbert to Release Children’s Book: ‘I Am a Pole (and So Can You!’)

Stephen Colbert has made a career out of making adults laugh, so now he figures it’s time to move on to kids. The publisher for the famed comedian confirmed Tuesday that he would pen a children’s book, I Am a Pole (and So Can You!), after Colbert previewed the book on his TV show. Colbert had as a guest last month famed children’s author Maurice Sendak, who called the book "terribly ordinary," adding: "The sad thing is I like it." Colbert said that he aimed to “cash in” on the trend of celebrities writing children’s books. "I hope the minutes you and your loved ones spend reading it are as fulfilling as the minutes I spent writing it," he said. The book is due to drop May 8.
