Stephen Colbert told his audience on Friday night that he’s celebrating 420 by doing what he’s done every April 20th since President Donald Trump was elected: “I am getting drunk.”
“But it’s also a big day for pot,” the Late Show host conceded, which brought him to American’s weed-hating Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
“This day is sure to upset Attorney general and man who could use a bong hit right now, Jeff Sessions.” Colbert said. He went on to explain that the attorney general “announced earlier this year that he was going to enforce the federal pot ban even though 29 states had legalized medical marijuana.”
“Sessions knows firsthand about pot’s dangers,” the host continued. “He works for the Trump administration. He already has both paranoia and short-term memory loss.”
With that, Colbert played a montage of all the times Sessions has said, under oath, that he cannot “recall” some seemingly important piece of information.
“That Keebler elf has been baking,” Colbert joked.
