Even Stephen Hawking says he’s baffled. The theoretical physicist and noted smart person told ITV’s Good Morning Britain he doesn’t understand the widening appeal of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in the U.S. Despite his seminal work on black holes, quantum mechanics, space, and stars, Hawking said he just doesn’t get it. “I can’t. He’s a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator.”
