As investigations into News International drag on, the Financial Times’s Phillip Stephens thinks he knows what’s going through Rupert Murdoch’s head: “After half a century of labour, is this how it ends?” Indeed, Murdoch clearly had dynastic ambitions in building his global media empire, but with his son under fire from Parliament, “[Murdoch’s] ambitions to bequeath [the company] to one of his children look at very best eccentric.”
