Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is launching a major pro-Trump political campaign that includes a fawning documentary titled Trump@War, Politico reports. Bannon’s Citizens for the American Republic, an outside political group with a 25-person “rapid-response unit,” will reportedly focus on advising surrogates, creating talking points, and bolstering support for Trump ahead of the midterm elections, which Bannon views as a referendum on the president himself. As part of the operation, Bannon’s pro-Trump documentary will reportedly be released in September and portray the president as a hero fighting to save the country from supposedly dangerous liberals. Bannon told Politico he has already hired nearly a dozen Trump allies for the new PAC, including former Trump campaign aides Michael Caputo and Sam Nunberg.
