Wall Street is loving September. Investors sent the Dow Jones Industrial Average soaring for the fourth consecutive week on Friday, extending a rally that now puts the index up 8.4 percent for the month—its best September performance since 1939. Stocks climbed on news that Germany’s export industry was continuing to perform strongly, as well as a U.S. report that showed companies were continuing to invest. “That’s what this market needed: solid signals that companies are spending their money, at time when global demand is intact,” said a strategist from Prudential Financial.
