Storm Kills Five in U.S. West

At least five people are reported dead after a powerful storm system caused flooding and water rescues in California, stranded drivers in Nevada and caused car crashes in Arizona and New Mexico. The powerful storm system advanced toward New Mexico on Saturday, portending winds, snow and below-freezing temperatures. Three people were killed by (or while attempting to avoid) debris in northern California, a 4-year-old girl was killed in in New Mexico when her family's car slid across a freeway and overturned and an Arizona man was swept away by high water in the Santa Cruz River.
