If you’re killing yourself to shed some pounds, you might be working too hard. A controversial new study found that obese people who were otherwise healthy were no worse off than thin healthy people, and were in fact even less likely to die of cardiovascular disease. Jennifer L. Kuk, an assistant professor at York University, said the findings fly in the face of accepted notions about weight. "I think this is a common notion, that if you are overweight you are unhealthy and that if you are skinny you are healthy," Kuk told CBS News. "What people need to realize is that normal-weight people can have diabetes, high blood pressure, and other cardiovascular problems."
