Study: Too Late to Stop 16-Foot Sea Rise

Calculations by The New Scientist say it’s too late to stop a 16-foot rise in sea levels, and without immediate intervention sea levels will rise 65 feet. Scientists consulted by the magazine say two melting glaciers in Antarctica are expected to raise sea levels 1.2 meters—4 feet—all on their own. Additional melting from the polar ice caps can bring those numbers even higher.
