Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak apparently did not enjoy his spot at the center of the health-care fight: The anti-abortion Democrat will not seek reelection this fall. “I’ve accomplished what I want to do. Either I run again and I’d be there forever or it’s time for me to make the break; it’s time for me to move on,” Stupak said. Stupak threatened to try to sink health-care reform over its abortion language several times, before voting for the final bill. Stupak is the 16th House Democrat to pack it in this year, and Republicans are likely to target his district for a pick up. Eighteen Republicans have also announced their retirement.
