At least 30 people are dead and more than 40 injured after a car bomb exploded outside a police college in Yemen's capital city of Sanaa on Wednesday, according to police sources. A suicide bomber driving a minibus killed dozens including students at the academy as well as people waiting in line to enroll with the police, the Associated Press reports. There was no immediate claim of the attack but Yemen's local al-Qaida branch has carried out similar attacks in the past. The blast follows a Dec. 31 al-Qaida suicide bombing that killed at least 26 people in the Yemeni city of Ibb, appearing to target the Houthi Shi'ite Muslim militia that seized parts of Yemen late last year.
