Sundance Film Festival co-founder Sterling Van Wagenen, 71, has been charged with sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl, according to NBC News. He is accused of “inappropriately touching a girl on two occasions between 2013 and 2015,” according to a probable cause statement filed on April 4. The abuse allegedly occurred in two different cities in Utah when the girl was 7 and two years later when she was 9, according to court documents seen by NBC. Van Wagenen’s attorney declined to comment to NBC, but the festival organizers denounced his behavior and said he has “no current connection” to the festival, according to Deadline. Van Wagenen is free on $75,000 bond and will appear in court on May 2.
