Reject humanitarian groups’ challenge.

Hamas shouldn’t expect help from American aid organizations any time soon: The Supreme Court upheld on Monday a federal law that bars “material support” to foreign-terrorist organizations. Humanitarian groups had challenged the law on free-speech grounds, arguing that they should be allowed to encourage and advise on peaceful and lawful activities. The Court disagreed with the organizations in a 6-3 ruling, which featured Justice Stephen Breyer taking the unusual step of reading his dissent—which was joined by Justices Ginsburg and Sotomayor—from the bench.
