A man has been arrested in connection with the beating of a homeless man in Los Angeles, and police say the suspect is also connected to other fatal beatings of homeless men in the city. The Los Angeles Times reports 47-year-old Ramon Escobar was arrested after a homeless man was found severely beaten on Monday, leaving him critically injured. The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement that it believes Escobar is also responsible for beating three other homeless people with a baseball bat in downtown Los Angeles last week. All three were attacked while sleeping and robbed. Two died of their injuries, and one was critically injured. The arrest comes after 39-year-old Steven Ray Cruze Jr. was killed after being beaten underneath Santa Monica Pier last week, although it is unclear whether police suspect Escobar of attacking Cruze.
