Suspect Arrested in Webcam Murder

Attack had been seen over the Internet.

Police in Canada have arrested a man suspected of killing Qian Liu, 23, a Toronto college student. Brian Dickson, 29, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Police would not confirm whether or not Dickson and Liu knew each other, though a friend of Liu’s posted online that Dickson and Liu once lived together. Liu, a student at York University, arrived in Canada from Beijing in September and had lived in the apartment where her body was found since January. Liu had been speaking to her boyfriend in China via webcam around 1 a.m. on Friday, when she was attacked by a man she had let into her apartment to use her phone.
