U.S. authorities have taken into custody the person they believe sent a letter containing deadly ricin to President Donald Trump. NBC News reports that the suspect, who was not named, was detained by border agents while trying to enter the U.S. from Canada. The New York Times previously reported that the suspect is a Canadian woman. The letter sent to the White House was detected by screeners—and other letters were reportedly sent to federal prisons.
