Sweden Launches Bomb Probe

Swedish authorities launched an investigation Sunday into the two explosions that rocked central Stockholm on Saturday, killing a man and injuring two others in a busy shopping district. The country's prime minister called the blasts an "act of terrorism," and stopped just short of connecting the bombs to Islamic terrorists who sent an email to a Swedish news outlet expressing outrage about anti-Islamic cartoons and the war in Afghanistan. The Swedish media reported the dead man as a suicide bomber, claiming he carried pipe bombs and a backpack full of nails, though the police would not confirm those details. The prime minister said the investigation would first attempt to find connections between the two bombings, which happened about 200 yards apart.
