Swiss authorities have extradited the first of seven FIFA officials detained in a corruption probe to the United States. “He was handed over to a three-man U.S. police escort in Zurich who accompanied him on the flight to New York,” a spokesperson for the Swiss Justice Office said. The official hasn’t been named, but Jeffrey Webb of the Cayman Islands had previously decided not to fight extradition. The officials are accused of involvement in a huge bribery investigation involving more than $100 million.
