Switzerland’s Attorney General Michael Lauber announced late on Wednesday that a recruit of ISIS who had returned from Syria would be sentenced to 600 hours of community service time, but will not go to prison. The man who went to join ISIS in Syria asked to leave two weeks into training camp there, but was instead jailed by the militants for 54 days. While his name has not been released, the 30-year-old told a broadcaster in the country, “I was new to Islam... The videos I saw and the discussions I had online made me feel like I had to go there.”
