President Obama found time on Sunday during last-minute debt-ceiling negotiations to condemn new violence in Syria, where the government killed at least 130 protesters Sunday. “Once again, President Assad has shown that he is completely incapable and unwilling to respond to the legitimate grievances of the Syrian people," Obama said. The attacks took place in Hama, where 500,000 protesters rallied on the eve of Ramadan. According to Al Jazeera, the government attacks have continued Monday morning, killing at least 25 more people.
