The Syrian government is keeping an eye on dissidents who live abroad, including in the United States, and is accusing people who speak out of being “traitors” conspiring with “Zionists.” The Obama administration says it has “credible” evidence that relatives in Syria of outspoken Syrian-Americans are being targeted by the government. The Wall Street Journal reported it found six Syrian-Americans who say their relatives in Syria have been interrogated, threatened, or arrested as a result of their political activities here.
