Some holes in your heart and wallet can only be plugged by free coffee, ice cream, and cupcakes. In a bid to get butts in seats, boost company image, and entice customers to try new products, a host of eateries are offering freebies for Tax Day. So get the schedule straight: MaggieMoo's is offering slices of pizza-shaped ice cream from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Cinnabon will give out bite-sized pieces of cupcakes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; if you're in D.C., Dairy Queen is making a "symbolic gesture" by parking a Mini Blizzard-dispensing Blizzardmobile outside the IRS offices noon to 1 p.m.; and Starbucks is offering free coffee to customers with reusable mugs, although it's technically in honor of the upcoming Earth Day. McCormick & Schmick's and P.F. Chang's are both offering food deals and discounts, and Whole Foods is paying sales tax for customers in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia.
