So Ted Cruz is giving everyone a lesson in going at it alone. The Texas Republican insisted Monday that he will use “every procedural means available” to defund Obamacare—even if it means a government shutdown. And he doesn’t need any allies while he’s at it: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Whip John Cornyn said Monday that they will not back Cruz’s bill to defund Obamacare. The bill already passed the House, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid plans to strip that provision before putting the budget portions before the Senate. The bill to increase government spending must pass before October 1, or the government faces a shutdown. Your move, Cruz.
