A U.K. teen has been accused of using a BlackBerry to incite violence during the London riots. The 18-year-old allegedly sent a BlackBerry message on Monday that encouraged friends to repeat the violence and looting that had been spreading across the country. This is the first case in which police have cited the messaging service, but one politician called for BlackBerry Messenger to be shut off during the disturbances, while Tory M.P. Louise Mensch said that Twitter should be shut down as well. “Shut them off for an hour or two, then restore,” Mensch said. “World won’t implode.”
