A 19-year-old from Oklahoma was sentenced to five consecutive life terms in prison on Thursday after stabbing his parents and three siblings to death in 2015, according to the Associated Press. In the horrific attack, Michael Bever, then 16, and his brother Robert killed their mother, father, two younger brothers, and a 5-year-old sister, police said. Two other sisters survived the incident. Bever was also charged with one count of assault and battery for wounding one of the sisters who survived, adding 28 years to his life sentences. While authorities never revealed the motive for the killings, Robert Bever told police that he was physically abused by his parents, and said he hoped the killings “would bring him fame.” He pleaded guilty and received a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Michael Bever was sentenced to a total of 253 years in prison, and his attorneys say they plan to appeal the decision.
