Teen Girls Increasingly Sexualized on TV

The Parents' Television Council is known for its prudery about what shows up on TV, but this time it's targeting the sexualization of teenage girls in popular shows. Armed with a 20-page study, the group claims that underage girls are more likely than adults to be objectified in shows like The Office, NCIS, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, and The Vampire Diaries. The report says teenage girls are increasingly portrayed as having their self-worth depend on their sexuality—an issue that's also been highlighted by the American Psychological Association.
