A 14-year-old girl was arrested Thursday after apparently being inspired by Internet meme Slender Man to set fire to her own home. The girl allegedly lit a bleach-and-rum-soaked towel and bed sheet on fire in her garage then ran away to a park nearby and slept in a bathroom. The girl’s 9-year-old brother and mother—who, at one point while escaping, ran back inside to find her daughter—were inside the home at the time but escaped safely. The Florida state attorney’s office has yet to determine whether to try the 14-year-old as an adult.
