Terrorist Took Selfie With Severed Head

The man who allegedly admitted beheading his boss at a French chemical factory Friday sent a selfie with the severed head to Syria, authorities say. The receiving WhatsApp account was registered to a Canadian number, but belongs to Sebastien-Younes, a French nationalist thought to be fighting for ISIS near Raqqa. Officials are still investigating Yassin Salhi’s motives. “We don’t know whether we’re dealing with a fundamentalist who flipped or a real terrorist,” one source told Reuters. “Investigators are wondering whether this isn’t just a simple criminal act.” No group has claimed responsibility for Salhi’s attack.
