Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Thursday the state will join 20 others in a lawsuit against Delaware, claiming that the First State has been illegally keeping millions of dollars in unclaimed checks from Texas alone. The states do not have an estimate on the final amount owed by Delaware. Paxton announced the suit on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court building. It will be filed directly to the high court because of the nature of the dispute. “Delaware has our money. They’ve kept our money,” Paxton said. “We’re just trying to get what is owed to us.”
