The man accused of shooting Harris County, Texas Deputy Darren Goforth was found incompetent to stand trial for the murder charges against him. A state district judge ruled Tuesday that Shannon Miles will go to a state mental hospital for 120 days of treatment, after which, he will be reassessed for possible trial. Goforth was pumping gas into his cruiser last August when he was allegedly shot 15 times by Miles. Defense attorney Anthony Osso has said of his client, “It’s been literally impossible to communicate with him on a rational basis or in a rational manner.”
