Texas is set to execute a former cop—who hired a hitman to kill his estranged wife while he was in church—after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to stop it. Robert Fratta has spent nearly three decades on death row in connection with the murder-for-hire of Farah Fratta, a mother of three. His conviction was overturned in 2007, but he was found guilty on retrial, after his children testified against him. Fratta, 65, is scheduled to die by lethal injection on Tuesday.
