The 12 Thai boys whose rescue from an underwater cave complex captivated the world have been released from hospital and have said they were feeling in good health and looking forward to going home. The boys started a press event Wednesday by kicking a soccer ball around and then a video of the boys thanking their medical team at a hospital was shown. The boys introduced themselves one by one, followed by their coach and the Navy SEAL teams who rescued them, and then fielded questions that had been vetted by psychiatrists. Describing the moment when divers found them, one boy said: “It was a miracle, I was shocked.” The coach said they had no food in the cave, and the boys also denied reports that they couldn’t swim, saying all of them could. The coach said they all started feeling weak two days into the ordeal after they had attempted to dig to safety. The boys said they were able to watch the World Cup final on Sunday, with most of them backing the eventual winner France.
