Time could be running out for Thailand’s deputy prime minister after more than 60,000 people signed a petition calling for him to resign over a scandal revolving around his big, fancy watch. Prawit Wongsuwan has been hit with heavy criticism after being photographed wearing a diamond ring and a luxury watch at a cabinet meeting in December, Reuters reported. Activists have identified no less than 25 shiny timepieces the deputy PM has worn in public but has not declared, in possible contravention of Thai anti-corruption rules. Prawit claimed he borrowed the watches from friends, but said he’d resign if that’s what the public wanted.
