If you’re flying through New York, you better count on being late: 41 of the country’s 50 tardiest flights started or ended in one of New York’s three major airports, according to data complied by Bloomberg. On average, the 50 tardiest flights were 74 minutes late. The most-delayed flight was a trip on Comair from Washington Dulles to Kennedy, which was late about 85 percent of the time with an average flight-time of 62 minutes and an average delay of 65 minutes. The New York airports account for 12 percent of operations at the country’s 35 largest airports, while being responsible for nearly half of all delays.
