It’s Oscar day, and there’s no denying that the black-and-white silent film The Artist is going into the homestretch a clear favorite. The movie, which is nominated for 10 Academy Awards, won Best Feature at the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday night. The film’s Michel Hazanavicius also won Best Director, and its star Jean Dujardin won Best Male Lead. The Descendants, starring George Clooney, had something going for it, winning Best Screenplay, and Michelle Williams won best actress for playing Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn.
