It’s a cover that would make the late Naomi Sims proud: Four women of color gracing the cover of the high-design i-D magazine. Jourdan Dunn, Sessilee Lopez, Arlenis Sosa Pena, and Chanel Iman pose together on the magazine’s September cover in black silk bustiers and lots of neon eyeshadow. Inside, Dunn tells the magazine: “There are loads of black models working and the idea that there’s only a few of us, or four of us, to let in as top models at any one time is just bullshit. It creates an unnecessary competition when we should be standing together.” Kanye West loved the shoot, posting all of the fun, neon inside shots on his blog. A shoutout from Kanye is like a pop-culture gold medal, so these four are set for quite some time.
