There’s a war out there on America’s educated class, and they’re losing big time, says David Brooks in Tuesday’s New York Times. “Every single idea associated with the educated class has grown more unpopular over the past year,” Brooks writes. On global warming, social issues, and foreign affairs, public opinion is moving away from the values that the country’s learned support. In the fall of one group, Brooks sees the rise of another: the tea partiers. The columnist predicts the next decade could become the Tea Party Teens. Brooks says if things go their way, the “movement is likely to outgrow its crude beginnings and become a major force in American politics.”
