The U.S. military is set to deploy a new drone in Afghanistan this year that can track the enemy more effectively than ever before, thanks to new technology able to survey huge areas at once. Codenamed the Gorgon, the drone relies on an array of nine attached cameras that generate data simultaneously. Critics warn that it may offer military analysts too much data, forcing them to sift through more useless footage than ever before in their search for usable intel. But it also allows them to survey an entire town at once without telling a camera where to point or risking losing its target.
