The most recent “Just Married” duo, Khloé Kardashian and Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom dated a whole month before tying the knot in a Los Angeles ceremony last Sunday. The couple stand by their decision, despite a swirl of rumors that the hasty hitch, which is—shockingly—airing on Khloé’s reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians on November 8, was a publicity stunt. “It's crazy how perception works in America when you're looking at things from the outside," Odom told the Los Angeles Times. “It might be off, it might be on. But anybody that was there will tell you that it was a beautiful event and it was real."

After hitting it off during a video shoot for her single “Bye, Bye,” which Nick Cannon directed, the 27-year-old proposed to his boyhood crush, Mariah Carey, with a diamond-infused ring pop on a rooftop overlooking the Empire State Building. The sometimes-rapper and America’s Got Talent host and pop diva legalized their May-December romance (Mariah’s 38) in a small secret ceremony at Carey's home in the Bahamas in May 2009, only weeks after they first began dating.

While Britney’s 24-hour Las Vegas quickie marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander is the wedding most frequently attributed to the pop starlet, Spears’ engagement to Kevin Federline wasn’t exactly a drawn-out affair. After knowing each other for only three months, the couple became engaged in June 2004 with a ring that Spears reportedly paid for herself. The singer and her pizza delivery boy/dancer beau tied the knot in a September ceremony that was legally formalized three weeks later. Citing irreconcilable differences, Spears filed for divorce in November 2006 and requested full custody of the pair’s two children. "I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of everything,” Britney told People in November 2008.

Nic Cage and sushi waitress Alice Kim met at L.A. restaurant Le Prive (where Alice worked) in February 2004—he was 40 and she was 20 at the time. The two were engaged by April 2004 and married in a private ceremony at a Northern California ranch on July 2004 and remain together after five years of wedded bliss. Cage’s previous marriage wasn’t as long-lasting. He and singer Lisa Marie Presley were married for a record-breaking 107 days. After walking down the aisle in a secret ceremony in Hawaii in August 2002, Cage and Presley were separated by December 2002 and finalized their divorce in May 2004. “I'm sad about this, but we shouldn't have been married in the first place,” Cage said of the separation.

The Baywatch star and Mötley Crüe drummer met on New Year's Eve in 1994 in New York City and married two months later in Cancun, Mexico. Although the two divorced after three years together, their on- and off-again relationship, which has included assault charges, jail time, and one charming sex tape, has provided years of tabloid fodder.

The marriage between Private Practice star Kate Walsh and Fox executive Alex Young ended in a messy divorce last year after only 14 months of marriage. After meeting in February 2007, the pair became engaged within three months and married in September in Los Angeles, with Walsh’s Grey’s Anatomy costars in the wedding party. “You know when you know,” Walsh told People at the time of the marriage. Unfortunately, she might have been mistaken—the couple parted in November 2008, citing irreconcilable differences.

Heralded by Forbes as one of the top 20 most expensive weddings of all-time, Oscar-winning actress Liza Minnelli married producer David Gest after only six months in a $3.5 million ceremony in March 2002. Best man Michael Jackson, who introduced the couple, was joined by Elizabeth Taylor as maid of honor, along with slew of VIP guests that included Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Lauren Bacall, and Mia Farrow. After a short-lived VH1 reality show, Gest and Minnelli separated in July 2003 in a messy settlement that included multimillion dollar lawsuits. Gest also claimed Minnelli drunkenly beat him and Minnelli counter-accused Gest of trying to poison her. The unhappy couple eventually settled.

After meeting at a party hosted by Gregory Peck, Mel Ferrer wooed Audrey Hepburn by offering her a part in the play Ondine, which she accepted. Rehearsals for the play began in January 1954, and the two were quickly married on September 24. Although Ferrer was known for romantic gestures, like bringing Hepburn home a fawn from a movie set to keep as a pet, he was also rumored to have a temper, and the marriage ended in December 1968 after 14 years.

The ink was still wet on the divorce papers that finalized her separation from Sonny Bono when, just three days later, a 29-year-old Cher decided to hop on a Learjet to Las Vegas and marry Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers. The diva shocked the music industry with her impulsive decision, which didn’t work out for the best. A mere nine days after they became man and wife, Cher filed for divorce on July 9, 1975. But between Allman’s heroin and alcohol addiction, he reportedly was too high to understand their marriage was over. Things remained tumultuous through the next year when Allman filed for divorce, but reneged when he found out Cher was pregnant with their son, Elijah Blue. After their duet album Two the Hard Way, recorded under the moniker, “Allman and Woman,” failed to an embarrassing extent, Cher finally cut ties from Allman in 1977, finding solace in the loving arms of Kiss’ Gene Simmons.

After some turbulent preteen years, E.T. actress Drew Barrymore decided to settle down and marry her boyfriend of six weeks, Jeremy Thomas on March 20, 1994. The young starlet proposed to the Welsh bar owner in a shadowy back alley near Hollywood Boulevard shortly after two in the morning, and they were married three hours later at Thomas’ dimly lit pub, the Room. The presiding official was a minister/psychic/private detective who brought Barrymore’s English bulldog, Jimmy—who reportedly urinated in the corner—to the ceremony. Perhaps Jimmy was psychic. The couple divorced approximately one month later.

Valentino may have initially been Acker’s “Latin Lover” when the then-struggling actors met at a party, but things quickly turned sour when their two-month courtship led to a walk down the aisle on November 6, 1919. On their wedding night, regretting her impulsive decision, Acker locked Valentino out of their room and, reportedly, the marriage was never consummated. Though they separated soon thereafter, they remained legally wed until 1921, when she filed for divorce on the grounds of desertion. Acker ended up receiving alimony and despite her improper use of the name “Mrs. Valentino” and other exploits, she and Valentino eventually reconciled their friendship.

Renée Zellweger met country singer Kenny Chesney at the Concert of Hope tsunami relief benefit concert on January 15, 2005 and apparently had him at “hello.” Less than four months later, on May 9, the two married in a sunset beach ceremony on the island of St. John in front of 35 of their closest friends and family. In September of that same year, however, Zellweger filed for the marriage to be annulled. By citing “fraud” as the reason for the split, rumors swirled that Chesney was gay and later sought to “clarify that the term ‘fraud’ as listed in the documentation is simply legal language and not a reflection of Kenny's character,” her statement read. The annulment was finalized in December.

It certainly took Diff’rent Strokes for Gary Coleman to wed his girlfriend of five months, Shannon Miller, on August 28, 2007, after meeting her on the set of their comedy Church Ball. The then 40-year-old Coleman and 22-year-old Price tied the knot at a Nevada mountaintop ceremony with “nobody around but the minister, preacher, the videographers, the photographer, the helicopter pilot,” Coleman told Inside Edition. The 5-foot-7 actress claims her husband’s 4-foot-8 height is nothing but a number. “He was 10 feet tall to me because he was sweet and I really liked his personality,” she said. She might not feel the same after being arrested for a domestic-violence dispute, but nevertheless, more than two years later, the two are still together.
