Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC’s Morning Joe have created a new model for morning news with an improvised style and unscripted anchor banter, The New York Times reports. "I'm very busy thinking about them as a temporary couple on the air," screenwriter/director Nora Ephron says. "I tend to watch almost anything like this in terms of: is this romantic comedy? And it is." A far cry from the more stylized and formal Today Show from the ‘70s and ‘80s, the Times credits Morning Joe with raising the bar for intelligent debate. "We don't prepare," Scarborough says. "We don't play TV."
