As Old Man Winter continues to have his way with the Northeast (there’s more snow today from Jersey all the way up into New England), he’s also cast his attention to a fresher locale: the Dirty South.
For the second time in as many years in much of the Bible Belt—including Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas—temperatures are plummeting and snow and ice are freezing normal life to a standstill. In a region more known for humidity than slick roads, the reaction is as mixed as the snow and freezing rain, with some loving the time off from work and others completely unprepared for what may be the beginning of a new normal.
