If you want to know the secrets to people's success, a good place to look is the graduation speeches they've given. College commencement speeches are always full of advice, and they’re often given by some of the most successful people on Earth.
You could follow President Obama’s advice at Rutgers University, for example, to “know what you’re talking about.”
Or you could seek the kind of allies Oprah Winfrey recommended at Johnson C. Smith University, who she called “people who want you to win.”
Sheryl Sandberg, author of Lean In, had more personal advice this past weekend for graduates of UC Berkeley. Opening up about the loss of her husband Dave Goldberg, she promised students that, with resilience, it is possible to survive and even thrive after the death of a loved one.
