Something fishy went down in New Mexico, when a thief entered Santa Fe Landscapes and Water Gardens and took 10 of owner Melissa D’Angelico’s koi fish, worth an estimated $4,000. KOB-TV reports that video surveillance captured the man using a net to remove the fish. Selective breeding practices and the fact they usually spawn one offspring a year, make them expensive pets. The most expensive Koi fish was sold in Japan for a record $1.8 million.
