The market is flooded with smartwatches, and many of the leading ones – Apple Watch and Android Wear included — carry a hefty price tag. The Ticwatch is a cost effective alternative, coming in under $200 and offering a competitive range of features. It also had a pretty successful run on Kickstarter where it raised over $2 million from over nine thousand backers.
The Ticwatch’s Ticwear OS makes it easy to get notifications, track fitness goals, read texts, and even use GPS navigation — all without taking out your smartphone. The intuitive interactions not only work, but they’re also creatively named to make the experience more fun. For example, a “tickle” is a side touch stript hat lets you scroll, select, and zoom and a “flip and knock” is the gesture control system for calls and songs. On top of those features, the Ticwatch 2 sports voice command and a sleek, round face with customizable backgrounds and a vibrant 400 by 400-pixel OLED display. It’s also IP65 rated, meaning you have the freedom to get it a little wet without worrying about it breaking. Finally, there’s the battery life: One 80-minute charge carries you through two days of use.
You can get the Ticwatch 2 Active Smartwatch for $169.99, which is 15% off the typical $199.99 price tag.
