This Under-$50 Mid-Century Floor Lamp Is Worth Every Penny
This floor lamp not only looks good practically anywhere, but it’s also a joy to put together.
When my boyfriend and I moved in together, I was delighted to find that he detested overhead lighting just as much as I did. Overhead lighting tends to be harsh and overwhelming in a room (especially in a small Brooklyn apartment) and to me, the warmth of a couple of floor lamps is much more enjoyable. We hunted around for a couple weeks to find the perfect lamp and stumbled on the $45 Brightech Bijou LED Tripod Floor Lamp. This lamp not only looks good practically anywhere, but it’s also a joy to put together. The drum shade itself is like a 3-D puzzle with interlocking pieces that look like nothing at first but then explode into a lattice-like lampshade. I have my lamp outfitted with a Philips Hue bulb and can, therefore, control it with Alexa, which really works well with the soft glow effect that the lamp gives off. If you’re not a smart bulb kind of person, it turns on with a step switch.
