Three suspects have been arrested in the murder of an Air Force service member, Cedar Park police announced Monday. Authorities told local-news outlets that they believe the slaying last Sunday was random, and may be related to a wider string of armed robberies. On Jan. 20, Austin Robert Burroughs, 22, and his wife were parking their car inside a Texas apartment building when an unknown male shot Burroughs as he tried to exit the car, police said. The active-duty officer died in the parking lot, authorities said, after police responded to a call about shots fired around 9:15 p.m. The identities of the three suspects have not been released.
