An Indian schoolboy was mauled to death by a white tiger at a zoo in New Delhi on Tuesday. While zoo manager Riaz Khan said the boy “seems to have leapt over the railing into the tiger enclosure,” the railing was very low and witnesses suspect he may have accidentally fallen into the cage. Himanshu, a witness who only gave his first name, said he ran over to the cage when he heard screams and saw the boy in the tiger’s jaw, “writhing badly in pain.” While some of the children kept “throwing in small sticks and stones” at the tiger, the boy was already caught and “kept suffering for the next 10-15 minutes but nobody helped him,” said Himanshu. It is unclear what will happen to the white tiger.
